Lucy and Matt got married in one of the most lovely, rustic venues we've seen...they chose a country pub set high up on a hill looking over rolling hills, green fields and grazing sheep. It was a perfect location for their informal style and Lucy jazzed it up beautifully with bistro lighting, romantic candlelight and LOTS of flowers.
When I met with Lucy, she was very laid back about the florals she wanted and was happy for us to take the lead - she just gave us a colour palette of blues and blush...gorgeous. We set to work on choosing the most beautiful blooms for her and decided on blue 'Lolly Pop' hydrangea (you might be able to tell that hydrangeas are a firm fave), antique blush 'Menta' roses, grey brunia, scabious pods, white veronica, ice blue delphiniums and dusty miller foliage.
For Lucy and her bridesmaids bouquets, we handtied the stems in a rustic, free-flowing style to suit the relaxed atmosphere of the wedding day. Lucy's bouquet was tied with navy satin ribbon with a crocheted lace overlay and her bridesmaids' bouquets were finished with a heavy drape navy satin and tied with a big bow.
For the buttonholes, we chose a antique blush 'menta' rose, white snowberries and eucalyptus cinerea foliage. They were tied delicately with rustic twine and secured on the lapel with white pearl-headed pins.
For the wedding ceremony, we wanted the flowers to make an impact rather than just be scattered and unnoticeable. White lace-trimmed jam jars were filled with posies of hydrangea, snowberry, roses, gentiana, scabious, veronica, delphinium, astilbe and eucalyptus. Varying height jars were interspersed with antique gold painted bottles of various shapes holding tall white tapered candles.
For the reception, the round tables were covered in ivory linen table cloths, hessian runners and dotted with five flower-filled jam jars and candles in seven gold painted bottles. The room was further transformed by fab 'Love' illuminated letters and retro bistro-bulb lighting hung outside in the decking area.
It was a truly wonderful wedding to be a part of - filled with love, family and flowers and we wish Lucy and Matt every happiness in their lives together.
